One
of the oldest camera clubs in the Northern Illinois, the Des Plaines
Camera Club was formed on June 23, 1952 by a group of individuals who
shared an interest in photography. The club provides encouragement to
members to expand their interests in photography in which they not only
learn from one another, but also have an outlet for their creative
interest. Meetings include workshops, lectures, and demonstrations in
computer programs and traditional film and digital photography. The club
is a member of (C.A.C.C.A) Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association and
enters monthly inter-club contest.
The DES PLAINES CAMERA CLUB meets on the
second and fourth Monday
of each month September thru May. The Club meets in the Community
Room of the Des Plaines Park District Prairie Lakes Community Center
located at 515 E. Dempster/Thacker Street (One half block West of
Wolf Road) in Des Plaines. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m.
Guests are always welcome. Whatever level of interest in photography
you have, all are cordially invited to attend a meeting. For
additional information regarding the Club, you are encouraged to
