The Des Plaines Camera Club is dedicated to teach and
help photographers improve their skills at any level.
The club offers free monthly workshops at the regular club meetings
on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month September through May.
In addition to the in house workshops, various outings and field trips
and photo shoots are available to those interested. Check this bulletin
board in August for the years schedule.

Digital Photography – Classes, Workshops & other Learning Opportunities
Mark Southare and Jerry Hug are teaching a two-day “Hands-On”
workshop at The Clearing in Door County, WI. This workshop requires that
you have your own laptop computer and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0
installed. A few laptops will be available for rent on a first come

The software used for the workshops is Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 .
Persons just entering the world of digital photography should purchase
the Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and install on your computer (PC or
MAC).
Enrollment is on a first serve basis. This is a “hands on” computer
photography class.
Participants will learn how to use the power of Photoshop Elements 3.0
and maximize the look and appeal of everyday photographs.
Topics covered include: understanding Elements various (icons, tools,
and
Filters), digital and film capture, scanning, resolution, file
size, cropping, coloring and color management, photo restoration,
converting color images to black and white, sharpening for maximum print
quality and proper work flow.
Participants are encouraged when possible to bring their own images for
assignments and exercises, either on memory cards, CDs or on the hard
drive of their laptop computers. Former students can also take this
class for review.
